Le Gîte d'Eugénie

9.2 · 34 reviews

A townhouse in old Gaillac, on Place Maurice et Eugénie de Guérin. Two bedrooms, exposed brick and beams, equipped kitchen — for a family or a group of friends.

Le Gîte d’Eugénie is a townhouse in old Gaillac, on Place Maurice et Eugénie de Guérin — a quiet square with a fountain, plane trees and the pink-brick façades typical of the historic centre. The house is on three floors: a living-kitchen on the ground floor with an exposed brick wall and a wooden staircase up to the bedrooms, and two rooms upstairs with heavy beams and timber ceilings.

This is a gîte for a group — a large family, friends on the road. Seven people fit comfortably, with two bathrooms and a kitchen equipped to cook Friday-market produce, five minutes away on foot. The furniture is simple but the volumes are generous, and the brick walls, terracotta tiles and beams give the place a character that holiday rentals do not often have.

The owner is described by guests as welcoming and responsive. Parking is free in front of the house — a detail that matters in an old town centre.
