It’s one of the simplest and most successful fixtures of the Gaillac summer. Every Friday in July and August, the Coq en Fête association sets up a stage in the Saint-Michel Abbey Gardens, right in the heart of Gaillac, and puts on a band from 6.30pm to 10pm. Rockabilly, pop-rock, blues, swing: the programming is all about music you can dance to.
The deal fits in one line: €8 entry, and for that you get a plate of tapas, two glasses of Gaillac wine and the concert. People come as families or with friends, settle on the grass, nibble, and the floor fills up from the first numbers. The setting — the Benedictine abbey and its park by the Tarn — does the rest.
It’s every Friday of the summer under the Abbey trees. The full line-up, band by band, is below.
