Sûn is a townhouse on Faubourg Saint-Michel in Rabastens, two streets from the Church of Notre-Dame du Bourg — the one whose 13th-century wall paintings earned it a UNESCO listing. The host — reviews do not give a first name, but they describe a warm, attentive, proactive person — has turned the house into a place where the food is as good as the sleep.
Four rooms, spread over two floors. The two on the first floor are 18 m² each, with private bathrooms; the two on the second share a 45 m² space, also with individual bathrooms. The style is distinctive: pale panelling, scalloped wood trim, painted wardrobes, floral bed linen. It could be a seaside cabin — except you are in the heart of the Tarn, and canal tiles show through the window.
Breakfast is an institution. Organic tea, homemade jams, artisan breads, fresh fruit — served on a floral tablecloth with mismatched china. In the evening, the table d’hôtes offers vegetarian and organic cooking that surprises even the sceptics. A TripAdvisor comment says it all: “You almost turn vegan.”
