The editor
How the work gets done
The team is small, and we don't pretend otherwise. Research starts from press dossiers, town halls, tourist offices and estate websites; we cross-check with Wikipedia, Wikimedia Commons, academic work when it exists, and people on the ground when a detail really matters. We rarely shoot the photos ourselves — we'd rather credit those who do it better (see below). The full method is spelled out on the About page.
